What if it all works out?

SoulFilling Adoption: Coaching and Communication Support for Parents and Families

Welcome to SoulFilling—a space rooted in lived experience and guided by the science of positive psychology. Adoption has evolved significantly over the last several decades, and today’s adoptees, birth parents, and adoptive families welcome conversations that reflect that evolution. Through workshops, writing, digital tools, and community partnerships, SoulFilling supports grounded, compassionate, and hope-filled adoption conversations—ones that honor uniqueness, spark connection, and invite real growth.

SoulFilling provides compassionate, practical learning experiences that help individuals and organizations cultivate resilience, reflection, and real-life wellbeing. SoulFilling creates space for reflection and growth across the adoption triad — adoptees, birth parents, and adoptive parents — honoring the complexity of lived experiences while exploring how understanding and well-being can develop over time. Flourishing is intentional, grounded, and deeply human. And it’s within reach for all of us.

SoulFilling Adoption Support Services

1:1 Individual or Family Support

I work with women on every side of the adoption triad — adoptive parents, birth parents, and adoptees — because I know firsthand that no two adoption stories are the same.

With over 30 years of lived adoption experience and 25+ years in coaching and organizational leadership, I create a safe, compassionate space to explore your story with fresh perspective, renewed confidence, and clarity. This isn't about telling you how you should feel. It's about helping you move forward with peace and a deep trust in your unique journey.

Together, we might explore:

  • Parenting with Confidence & Grace — navigating the unique joys and challenges of parenting through adoption

  • Embracing Your Adoption Story — gaining clarity and peace with how adoption is woven into your life

  • Mindset Shifts for a Thriving Family Dynamic — letting go of doubt and embracing a positive, empowered mindset

  • Answering Tough Questions with Ease — helping your child, and yourself, feel secure in adoption conversations

  • Navigating Transitions in Your Adoption Journey — whether it's early childhood, the teenage years, or adulthood

Programs, Workshops, and Webinars

There is always more than one story. The one we tell ourselves. The one others assume. And the one that's still unfolding.

More Than One Story invites participants into a reflective look at how the narratives we carry — about adoption, identity, family, and belonging — shape the way we move through the world.

Drawing on the BEACON Communication Model and the science of applied positive psychology, this presentation makes space for both the joy and the complexity that often live side by side. Grief and gratitude. Certainty and questions. Belonging and still becoming.

Whether offered as a keynote, workshop, or webinar, this session helps participants:

  • Recognize the strengths that have carried them this far

  • Hold both what is hard and what is hopeful, without denying either

  • Explore how the stories we carry shape identity, connection, and possibility

  • Leave with one intentional next step forward

This is not about rewriting the past. It's about widening the lens, and remembering that no single story ever tells the whole truth.

Speaking Engagements & Book Signings

As a mother blessed three times through adoption, I've watched my own children navigate its beautiful complexity, and it's shaped everything I write.

Books like Dream, Dream, What Will You Dream? and Brianna's Brave Day at School were born from real moments in our family. They are stories I wrote to help make the conversation of adoption more visible, casual, and understood at home and at school.

Whether I'm reading aloud to a room of wide-eyed classroom listeners or speaking to parents, educators, and community groups about my own adoption journey, my message remains: one voice, one story, one comment can change how others see adoption, and open hearts and minds along the way.

I'm available for:

  • School and classroom readings — bringing my children's books to life for young audiences, with space afterward for age-appropriate conversation about adoption

  • Speaking engagements — sharing my personal adoption journey and family story with parent groups, schools, and community organizations

  • Book signings — connecting with readers and families around Dream, Dream, What Will You Dream?, Brianna's Brave Day at School, and Dominica's Story

The Heart of SoulFilling

Reflect + Grow = Flourish

Adoption has evolved dramatically over the past 25 years. We now elevate more complete, triad-inclusive stories—reflecting the experiences of adoptees, birth parents, and adoptive families with greater honesty, nuance, and compassion. Yet despite this progress, most adoption support still centers on reducing distress rather than cultivating well-being. The next step is offering a visible, science-informed pathway that helps people not only heal, but grow, strengthen, clarify, and flourish.

Who in your life would love a Beacon Adoption Pendant?

Sterling Silver_edited.jpg

I designed the SoulFilling Beacon Pendant as a heartfelt interpretation of the adoption symbol. The imperfect heart reflects a powerful truth that love doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful. Its intentionally open design serves as a reminder that when you keep your heart open to love, guidance, and support, you can navigate any journey with strength and grace.
